ABOUT ESSENCE
Okoro Uwale a.k.a Essence started her foray into music at the age of eighteen. 
Before launching her debut album in 2004,She was discovered by Kenny St. Brown at a talent hunt competition and since then, has graced the works of popular artistes such as Kenny St. Brown's top song of all time, “Heaven Came Down” which she featured as well as background vocals for Paul Play Dairo’s debut album and The Remedies.

Widely known as the voice behind the theme song for the famous soap opera, “Super Story” , Essence has performed alongside notable artistes such Sammie Okposo, Onyeka Onwenu, Mike Aremu to mention a few and has also penned other theme songs for movies/soap operas such as “Dominoes”, “Secrets and Scandals” and the award winning movie of 2009 “RELOADED”.
The Graduate of Theatre arts from Delta State University Abraka has been familiar with awards right from her school days as she was awarded best actress of the department, and now in the music industry, she has also been nominated for numerous awards such as The Best Female Vocal Performance at the maiden edition of the HIP HOP Awards; won the Gbedu Awards for best female vocalist in  2001 & 2005.


Known for her strong vocal abilities, Essence has performed in numerous shows within and outside Nigeria. With her style of music being R&B with a fusion of Hip Hop and Soul, she presently has two albums to her credit. Her debut album “TRULY ESSENCE” which boasts of radio favourites-  “LIKE DAT” and “AFRICAN PRINCE” and her sophomore album,  “ESSENTIAL” with the hits “GOOD BOY”, “KALANGOLO” and the awesome duo with label mate, Jaywon on “FACE BOOK LOVE”.

ABOUT O.CHU.KO (pronounced or-chu-ko)
Born to Mr and Mrs. Sifo, both from Delta State, Nigeria, Ochuko’s love for music started at the tender age of 9, which launched him early into the world of music. He nurtured his R&B passion while in Babcock University where he got a degree in Business Administration.  During his undergraduate years in B.U, he joined – JOOWE, an Accapella group of 5 young men with two of his brothers and two close friends. The group performed at all major campus events and won an award for best new group on campus.
After graduation, the group members pursued personal interests while Ochuko and a close friend became a duo called *‘2Ignite’*. In 2007, they released 3 singles titled ‘*What’s your name*’, ‘*All I need feat. Juliet’* and ‘*The Reason*’.

A uniquely gifted vocalist and performer, Ochuko decided to pursue a career in the private sector in 2008, where he built on his experience as a Marketer and Human Resource specialist . During his stint in the private sector, his passion for music was fuelled through his role as a lead singer in his church choir and he has now returned to his first love –‘*MUSIC’* as a full time job.

With the help of the Nigeria Prisons Service and Mrs Margaret Morenike Layode (Associate Partner, El-Gibbor Chambers (Law firm), Recording Artiste/Anti-Crime Ambassador and now Nigerian Prison Officer, Lamboginny, will help effect the release of Thirty-Two (32) Inmates with minor cases as they will be set free to go back home to their families on Friday, 23rd  March, 2012 @Ikoyi Prisons, Ribadu Street, off Awolowo Road, Ikoyi, Lagos.

This is being made possible by the generous donations of celebrities such as P- Square, Nikki Laoye, Kaffy, Stella Damasus, 9ice, Dj jimmy jatt, Sammie Okposo ,Yemisax, Yaw (of Wazobia FM), Laide Bakare, Tillaman, Shan George , Gbegan Adenuga, Lara George, Jahfexra, Skillz YBRL, Mrs Ellen Adeleye of NTA, Gina (from Nigezie), five year old artiste -Ozzy Bosco and many more.

All financial Donations will take care of the legal fees and bail money for these inmates. The fees are , at times, as low as 5,000 or 10,000 naira, of which most of them have not been able to pay and therefore remain in custody for months or even years.

Lamboginny aka Yinka Lawanson is a Nigerian Dancehall Recording Artiste and also an Anti-Crime Ambassador with his pet project - LAMBOGINNY SAY NO TO CRIME.

Talking bout fine boy singer, Capital F.E.M.I ..now out with his latest single, "GET LOW".

It's always a delight to hear FEMI sing, the fact stands out that he came onto the music scene with the strong R&B vibes,that had been long forsaken by most Nigerian artistes (Yes Ke! everyone been sticking to dancehall & club jams for too long nah).

NEWS: KEFEE WEDS POPULAR RADIO HOST,TEDDY DON MOMOH

Top Nigerian Singer, Kefee Obareki has been cooking up something really "Beautiful" (now i know who she was singing about in that song...LOL!) this past few months, weeks, maybe na years sef...and now the soup is ready as over the weekend,  Kefee took  popular radio/TV show personality, Teddy Esosa Don-Momoh to be her lawfully wedded husband.

The wedding including the traditional ceremony, took place in the bride’s hometown,Sapele in Delta state on Saturday 3rd of March 2012.
Though this news has caught everyone by surprise, the truth is Kefee and Teddy have been dating for a while but have kept their relationship out of the spotlight (wise idea, i must say).
Their first public sighting together was at the launch of Kefee's new restaurant- “Branama Kitchen" in February 2012. Teddy was seen speaking to her at intervals but hey, who would have guessed that he was THE MAN of the moment.


Teddy, popularly known as "The Fresh Prince",  has been a popular radio show host and producer on MITV & Star FM since 2003. He's known to be a real cool headed, warm, nice young man. (i know him well o...na correct guy!! LOL!)

Kefee was previously married to producer and record label executive, Alec Godwin. In 2008, after 3 years, the couple got divorced on the grounds of irreconciliable differences. Alec remarried in January 2012 and now, Kefee has done same.

On the morning of her wedding, Kefee had tweeted: "Thank You Lord for another brand new day...all the days of my appointed time, will i wait, till my change comes..Job14:14"
And now the change has really come for the soul singer who had been through a lot in her previous marriage.

A day after her wedding, she tweets again on Twitter .."Thank You Jesus! I owe it all to you"

It's good to see the two of them moving on with their lives...abi now!!

NEWS/MUSIC: ROOFTOP MCS IN "SERIES- SEASON ONE"

"Rooftop MCs are back at it again.
In preparation for their fifth album - "CROSSEYED: Minority Report II" scheduled for release in the month of September, The duo are putting out their very first MIXTAPE - "SERIES: Season One" to prepare the grounds before then.

In a fashion, that's typical of them, Soulsnatcha (@snatcha) & Sokleva (@mistarHughes) will once again use their unique take on pop culture to create music. The concept behind the mixtape is simply a play on popular TV shows from within & outside Nigeria- taking Popular TV series, in some instances, sample the theme music & use them to tell a story.

"We enjoy a lot of these TV shows and they have become a steady source of entertainment for people everywhere so I just told Kleva let's do this and that's how we got to work" says Snatcha.

The music will be released by putting out a new song every Sunday in the month of March 2012 via the group's official twitter handle @rtmcsupdates, Facebook fanpage (Rooftop-MCs), blogs and social media networks using the Hasgtag #SeriesSundays.

The complete body of work will be put out on the first Sunday in the month of April 01-04-2012 (and No! it isn't an April fools gimmick). The mixtape features production from and is also hosted by UK based producer Shabach Nwaname (@shabachnwaname) of Beautiful Soundz.

EVENTS: TIM GODFREY'S THANKSGIVING CONCERT...4TH MARCH 2012

In thanksgiving for the safety of his life from the clutches of armed robbers/kidnappers, Tim Godfrey is celebrating the gift of life with so much gusto...e no easy eeee!!

The light skinned artiste was reportedly kidnapped at about 11pm on Sunday, February 12, 2012 in Lekki.
With all friends and fans awake with worry, Blackberry broadcasts rang out everwhere that night and the day after, with messages such as, "Good morning! Last night at about 11pm, my very good friend Tim Godfrey (Agidigba) was abducted from his home at Alpha Beach along with his car. The car is a Metallic Blue Honda Pilot. Its a newly registered car with plate number LSD 738AE. All documents are in the car. Please if you see anything, please report to the nearest police station. He is light skinned, has black low cut hair and is of average height."

After long grueling hours, news poured out of his release as Tim was dropped off by his abductors and he immediately reported his kidnap at the nearest police station in Ajah and received immediate receiving treatment at the hospital after his ordeal.
We thank God that today, he's alive to tell the tale and also celebrate the gift of life.
