Largely known for their annual charity event tagged "A Smile for December" which usually holds towards the end of the year, Rita succesfully puts smiles on as many faces of orphans and motherless babies as she can, ensuring that food and supplies are made available to these children during the yuletide season.
Now she's got another one up her sleeve. Rather than take the same route for all talent competitions happening these days- call ups for auditions, acqusition of forms etc, Rita decided to go down a very different path- She took the camera to the streets.
Meeting up with lots of youths at bus stops, streets and corners; Rita and her team came up with amazing discoveries of budding young talents who were very eager to sing, dance and show off their skills in comedy, right there on the streets with no inhibitions.
Project Raw kicked off in full bloom as scores of youths were given free audtions and finally narrowed down to 15 finalists. The project seeks to discover and reward three extraordinary raw talents in music, dance and comedy at the end of the competition with cash prizes.
Handling the job as judges and mentors for Project Raw are three talented young professionals in the creative arts industry of Nigeria and they are Tolu Ajayi (Director of MNET TV series, Tinsel -Season 2); Nikki Laoye (Urban/Contemporary Christian Artist) and James Useghan (Head of the Student body of the Creative Arts Department, University of Lagos)
