MR 2KAY DROPS LOVE BALLAD - "BELEMA"

Singer, Mr. 2Kay has just released a love ballad titled “Belema” .

“Belema” is an Ijaw phrase for “Love” and “Sweetness” and in this context, Mr. 2Kay delivers an ode to his love interest and garnishes it with a contemporary highlife beat produced by Micon. SHOW DEM CAMP RELEASES EP ‘PALM WINE MUSIC (VOL. 1)’

The new extended play nods back to the vibe SDC created four years ago with ‘Feel Alright’.

Following the completion and success of their Clone Wars mixtape series, Nigerian rap duo Show Dem Camp are set to release their next project - a seven-track EP titled Palm Wine Music (Vol. 1).

“We first discovered the palm wine vibes with Feel Alright,” the longtime pair said in a statement.

“That set the precedent, and opened us up to a new sound.”

Comprising of rappers Tec and Ghost, Show Dem Camp is often credited for starting the laid back style of party music with their 2013 hit.

“Palm Wine music” has since taken on a life of its own - with the name of the tropical drink being used to describe the sweet fusion of African percussions with live instrumentals, elements of hip hop, and an atmosphere surrounding those feel-good songs.

It represents “escaping the stress of Lagos life,” SDC adds. “It’s oneness with nature, chilling with friends, a beautiful woman… just a happy place.”

Show Dem Camp’s new compilation serves as both the reintroduction to one of Nigeria’s premiere music acts, and as a worthy immersion into the industry’s current inspired sound. Produced entirely by Spax, the EP features several leading acts in the alternative and palm wine music spaces - including Funbi, Poe, Boj, Ajebutter, Odunsi the Engine, and Tomi Thomas.

GCGT SEASON 7 CROWNS ESTHER BENYEOGO AS WINNER

On Saturday 24th June 2017, Esther Benyeogo the 19 year-old singer was crowned Season 7 winner of God’s Children Great Talent during a live television broadcast of the grand finale at Eko Convention Centre.  She received the show’s grand prize of a 250 million naira management contract, 10 million naira cash and a brand new Kia Rio.

The winner’s prize was presented by Senior Pastor at RCCG City of David Parish, Pastor Idowu Iluyomade, Chairperson, GCGT Board of Trustees, Pastor (Mrs) Siju Iluyomade, Chief Executive Officer of Access Bank and Founder of The How Foundation, Dr. Herbert Wigwe.

Esther Benyeogo beat 9 other finalists, Joseph Odi, Damilare Bafunso, Anderson Peter, Deborah Oladipupo, Olawonuola Kehinde, Sophia Albert, Goodluck Enoch, Nengi Jaja and Emmanuel Osahor in a keenly contested final that saw a display of exceptional showmanship on stage.

A fans’ favourite, Esther has been a standout phenomenon on GCGT 7 since her very first performance and through the entire competition. Now as this season's winner, Esther Benyeogo’s career is about to take off with the GCGT team providing close guidance.

Nigerian Singer, Dammy Krane, who was recently arrested for alleged Fraud and Identity theft in the United States, has been released on bail today.

Popular Nigerian Artists, Tiwa Savage and Davido have their children enrolled at the same kindergarten school in Lagos and they both graduated today from "Toodler's Nest" to "Tweenies Corner" classes in a small classroom ceremony this morning.

Jamil's parents - Tiwa Savage and Teebillz were both in attendance while Imade had only her mum, Sophia Momodu as Daddy Davido is currently out of the country.

CNN INTERNATIONAL, DJ JIMMY JATT, DI’JA, REMINISCE, ICE PRINCE, DENRELE & MORE FAMOUS FACES VISIT #EKOTAG MONUMENT

In the course of recent weeks, photos of a mainstream Lagos street started showing up on social media in various and vivid fine arts with the hashtag #EKOTAG. As it turns out, Lagos got a facelift and the brains behind this procedure is visual artist and graphics designer, OSA Seven. 

Bystanders have been captivated by the art OSA has created at the EKO TAG monument situated at Law School bus stop on Ozumba Mbadiwe Road, Victoria Island, Lagos. They take to instagram to share photographs and footages when they spot the first graffiti monument, using the hashtag #EkoTagSpotted. 

Some of the Who’s who in the entertainment and creative industries have even stopped by to experience up close this historical moment. Some of these visits have even extended to famous faces lending OSA a hand at the site and keeping him companying in the most inventive ways while he recounts our stories as Lagosians through street art. 

Famous faces such as, DJ Jimmy Jatt, Reminisce, Di’JA, Ice Prince, DJ Spinall, DJ Obi, Sound Sultan, Kay Switch, Lotanna Chukuwu, Jon Ogah, FALANA Music, DJ Lambo, Denrele Edun, Jane Michael-Ekanem, Aramide, DJ Lambo, Bassey Ekpeyong, Makida Moka, Vina Longpet, Chuey Chu, Ruby Gyang, EHIZ, Praiz, Sammy Naija, Hauwa Mukan, Wofai Fada, Tosin Ajibade - Olorisupergal, Ibrahim Salawu - Unilag Olodo and many more.

Amid this makeover procedure, OSA did not only inspire young visual artists and future fine artists, he serves as a beacon of hope to artists who feel their art isn’t valid or can’t make an outstanding career off art. 

The way OSA Seven is telling our local stories to the world captured the attention of CNN International and they visited the monument to experience the historic moment and document the journey for an episode on Anthony Bourdain’s ‘Parts Unknown’. OSA has inspired with EKO TAG while changing the discernment and stereotypes of Graffiti/Street Art. 

OSA Seven is utilizing EKO TAG to preserve the history of Lagos and communicate our stories, also ways Lagos has driven Nigerians to be clever, resourceful and aspiring. With this being the first of it's kind in Nigeria, OSA Seven additionally enforces this historic moment with the support of Lagos State Government and FCMB by becoming the youngest artist in Nigeria to have an appointed landmark.
