VIDEO PREMIERE: NIKKI LAOYE - MANIFEST (LIVE VERSION)

After her recent return from her USA/Canada tour, Nigerian Soul Singer, Nikki Laoye has officially released her new single, "Manifest" - a praise anthem, written and arranged by Nikki herself with a twist of the popular Nigerian worship song, "Oh Lord Come Down and Manifest your power".

Produced by Rotimikeys, Nikki Laoye has teamed up once again with her friend/award winning producer (who is widely renowned for producing her award winning hit song, "Only You") and together, they have created another catchy praise tune, bound to become a favorite on every choir director's music itinerary and music lovers' playlists.

Recorded Live at The Rock Cathedral, House On The Rock, Lagos Nigeria, Nikki Laoye performed it for the first time, alongside her band - TeamNikkiLaoye, at the 4th Edition of The African Praise Experience.
She has also performed it at other concerts & events and on her tours before its official release today.

Speaking about the song, Nikki shares,
"The song kept ringing in my spirit, just about a week to TAPE 4 Concert last year and I called up my friend and producer, Rotimikeys to tell him about it.
In a couple of hours, I popped into his studio and voila, he put drums, tones and structure to my idea in no time.
I wasn't under any pressure to officially release it, though I performed it at the concert and other events afterwards since then but I believe this is the right time for its release.

A time when God is showing up for us, in us and through us for the world to marvel and bow at the power of His outstretched arm over His Children.
Yes, God daily MANIFESTS His power in us and by this power,we go forth to do all things through Christ that strengthens us 'cause the world eagerly awaits the MANIFESTATION of the Sons of God.

It's Time to MANIFEST!!"

OMOTOLA JALADE'S HUSBAND, CAPTAIN EKEHINDE REACTS TO HER EXPLICIT SEX SCENES IN NEW MOVIE - "ALTER EGO"

Captain Matthew Ekeinde, husband to popular actress,vOmotola has reacted to her new movie ”Alter Ego” where she acted out some explicit love scenes.

Her husband spoke about it in a recent interview with HipTV
His words -  "Yes,it is a story that matters, about Sexual abuse..something that creates a lot of awareness, it is really happening in our society, people don’t talk about it. I think it is a movie that will make people to start talking about it and let people come out and tell their expediencies,it is not something that is hidden.
She did a great performance, i enjoyed it, very explicit though, the scene where she had Sex with her sister’s husband, from the back..she was shouting harder’ harder, bang bang..i need to go ask her, you never said that to me, #laughter".

Starring in Alter Ego, Omotola takes on a role which sees her acting out sex scenes and now, she also opened up on why she took the script.

In the interview, the actress also talked about her three-year break from the movie scene and what she was up to during that period.

‘I knew I was going to embark on a break so I starred in a few movies, which have not been released,’ Omotola said. ‘I shot ‘Blood on the Lagoon’ with Teco Benson, and another one in London called ‘Amina’, which are yet to be released.

‘I got to that point when I felt like nothing was challenging me anymore and I began to feel like my standard was dropping. I went through that period and I knew I needed to stay away and wait for Nollywood to catch up with some of our ideas.

‘So I starred in movies that I thought could hold forth for me while I concentrate on other things like building my business.

‘Coming back was hard for me because I was aiming for that movie that would challenge. I got a lot of scripts and none of them filled that gap. I could have taken up some of them for the sake of money. But I have gone past that point.’

When asked about her role in Alter Ego and how her husband felt about her portraying the character, she said, ‘Some of the sex scenes in Alter Ego were downplayed because I’m married.’

Omotola added, ‘But I won’t play the sex scenes if it wasn’t necessary to be included in the film. I know by starring in this movie that my fans would either hate me or love me forever.’

The mother of four continued, ‘While shooting the film, I knew I was doing something quite risky. There are several ways to shoot a sex scene tastefully. I’m all for playing a sex scene convincingly and my husband knows this.

‘I tell my husband, ‘You know what darling, you married an actor’; and secondly, he is my biggest fan. ‘I tell him, ‘Do you want me to be great or do you just want me to be good?’ He will say, ‘I want you to be great, sparklingly great’. Then I’ll say, ‘Ehen, we go love o’ and he’s fine with it.’

Omotola also implied she would not be bothered by any criticisms that may come from shooting those raunchy scenes.

‘When I wasn’t even confident, I starred in a movie called a prostitute, which was released 22 years ago. If I didn’t die then, is it now? I’m ready.’

She then goes on to describe how she was able to get past the awkwardness with her co-star, Wale Ojo.

‘I was working with Wale Ojo for the first time, so we had to spend time together and we played very rough. I understand the power of being friends with your love interest in a movie so we became like a couple.

‘We ate together and basically just broke down the walls to make sure we were both comfortable with each other and have each other’s backs and interest at heart. So, it spilled into the movie without you even noticing.’

The movie is out this July

JAY-Z BREAKS DOWN THE MEANING OF EVERY SONG ON NEW ALBUM: "4:44"

JAY-Z‘s new 4:44 album has everybody going crazy, and now there’s audio of Hov breaking every song on the album down.

The new LP was played across over 160 iHeartRadio stations in the U.S. at midnight, and in addition to the album being played on national radio, Jay also gave insight to each track.

You can listen to the audio right here and read his breakdowns below.

“Kill JAY-Z”
“The first song is called ‘Kill JAY-Z’ and obviously, it’s not to be taken literal. It’s really about the ego. It’s about killing off the ego, so we can have this conversation in a place of vulnerability and honesty.”

“The Story of OJ”
“‘The Story of OJ’ is really a song about we as a culture, having a plan, how we’re gonna push this forward. We all make money, and then we all lose money, as artists especially. But how, when you have some type of success, to transform that into something bigger.”

“Smile”
“‘Smile’ is just what it is. There are gonna be bad times, and those bad times can do two things: they can get you in a place where you’re stuck in a rut, or it can make your future that much better because you’ve experienced these things.”

“Caught The Eye”
“‘Caught The Eye’ is a song that’s dealing with just being aware of your surroundings. There’s a line in it, and it says, ‘Your body language is all remedial, how could you see the difference between you and I?’ Just being so sharp about your surroundings.”

“4:44″
“‘4:44′ is a song that I wrote, and it’s the crux of the album, just right in the middle of the album. And I woke up, literally, at 4:44 in the morning, 4:44 AM, to write this song. So it became the title of the album and everything. It’s the title track because it’s such a powerful song, and I just believe one of the best songs I’ve ever written.”

“Family Feud”
“‘Family Feud’ is about separation within the culture. Like, new rappers fighting with old rappers, saying all these things. So, the line is, ‘Nobody wins when the family feuds.'”

“Bam”
“The song ‘Bam’ with Damian Marley it’s just jammin’, it’s just like the song. But it’s secretly Shawn Carter saying, ‘Man, you need a bit of ego.’ It was because of me and the things that I’ve done, this is JAY-Z saying you needed a bit of ego for us to arrive at this point.”

“Moonlight”
“The hook is ‘We stuck in La La Land/Even if we win, we gonna lose.’ It’s like a subtle nod to La La Land winning the Oscar, and then having to give it to Moonlight. It’s really a commentary on the culture and where we’re going.”

“Marcy Me”
“‘Marcy Me’ is a nostalgic walk through Marcy, and it’s about that hopefulness, that feeling of ‘Man, can I really do this? Can I really be one of the biggest artists in the world?’ You have these dreams, ‘Can I be one of the biggest basketball players?’ We have these dreams.”

“Legacy”
“The song is just about what it is, it’s like a verbal will. Just a song about speaking to my daughter. She starts the song off, and she says ‘Daddy, what’s a will?'”
