On the 29th of November 2012, SheiFunmi launched the project with an open shoot and mini concert at Bheerhugz Café, Ikeja City Mall. Some of entertainment industry's finest such as Karen Igho, Dammy Krane, Eva Alordiah, KEL, Denrele Edun, Yemi Alade, John Njamah, Saeon, Phenom, Ms Iye, Capital F.E.M.I., Adol, Jaywon, Aramide, Tillaman, YQ, Kunle Bello, Kenneth Okolie, Tosyn Bucknor and more, came out to support the campaign.
Shola Animashaun was the official photographer for the campaign.

This year’s edition of 'Get Naked' promises to be different, outstanding and most importantly, fight HIV/AIDS. According to SheiFunmi, "the project looks to make a lot of change and impact Nigerian youths by bringing influential people in the media, creative and business industries together to further create awareness on the widespread of the deadly virus, teach ways of fighting it hence building a formidable force against it."

Unlike the first edition, which had a mini concert and an open shoot, this year’s is going to be interestingly different. "Let’s just call it a social media take-over for a cause. I want everybody to participate and I am working on making that happen (God please let it happen!). The young, creative think-tanks working on this project cannot wait to share what we have prepared for #GetNaked2014 with you all.”

About ‘Get Naked’

‘Get Naked’ is a campaign put together to raise awareness about the risks of the incurable HIV/AIDS disease among teenagers and young adults. This initiative is primarily a result of the social and psychological stigma associated to the HIV virus as well as the AIDS disease. As young Nigerian youths, we experience our peers who either live or know someone that lives with this disease undergo prejudice as well as stigmatization and as a result, disclosure is less and risks are high.

The aim of this campaign is evident in our tagline: Go “BOLD” and “BARE”…. protect yourself!

This approach is a never-before experienced one in Nigeria especially. Being a developing country, the 'GET NAKED' campaign urges and seeks celebrity faces that the youth can IDENTIFY with, mentors and entertainment icons to lend their voices and encourage safe sex, disclosure, and draw international attention to this disease through documentaries, TV shows and the print media- which will all be a follow up to the initiative.

Sheifunmi decided to do this project after studying his environment/peers and their ignorance towards HIV/AIDS, their reluctance to get tested or the fear of knowing what the outcome would be, not leaving out the fact that people still are not knowledgeable about the virus and more-so seeing how people with the virus are being treated and segregated. Having had his share of this similar stigma experience as Shei suffers from Bipolar II disorder, he has decided to speak up, create awareness and knowledge to impact youths.
