Late Thursday afternoon, armed robbers clad in millitary wear stormed the popular Lekki Phase 1 area of Lagos state.
First City Monument Bank (FCMB) branch , located at Plot B, Waterfront Plaza, Admiralty Way, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos state was their target.

According to eye winesses, the robbers, numbering about 12, approached the area by boat at about 4:45pm and kicked off an operation that lasted about 25-30 minutes.
Four people were killed in the ensuing pandemonium which saw car owners abadoning their cars and running for their dear lives. Three of them were police escorts of a passing civilian Coaster bus who were caught unawares in their van and shot dead; and a fish seller who was unfortunately on the scene.

The armed robbers carted away with large sums of money from the bank and escaped by the same boat they arrived in.
Police and Security personel are presently carrying out investigations.
