VIDEO: JIDENNA WINS 'SOUL TRAIN AWARDS', TALKS ABOUT HIS 'EXCELLENT' NIGERIAN HERITAGE

Nigerian-American Rapper and Classic Man Jidenna may not have an album out yet, but that did not stop him from winning the Best New Artist Award at the 2015 Soul Train Awards!

During his acceptance speech, Janelle Monae’s Wondaland Records protégé reminisced about his Nigerian heritage and revealed how his Nigerian father pushed him towards excellence, recalling a time when he brought home a test from school with a 98 score and his father asked him “Ah Ahn, Where are the remaining two points?”.

He then rounded off his speech by saying "Dad, I think I've found the remaining two points".

His song “Classic Man” stirred up the airwaves this past summer and his suits made it cool for the young guys to rock tailored suits again.
Congrats to him!
